I Felt Whacko
This is a little musique concrete tape manipulation piece from the late '80s. It is included on the System Error CD. It has many interesting original bits of custom source material, (well, interesting to me at least) including some Moog 55 and Bode Frequency Shifter stuff recorded at the University of Minnesota when I was a student there. The female voice speaking the words, "I felt whacko" was Mary Dana. She was in the studio singing long sifting vowel sounds for my piece, Shift, which apparently made her feel whacko. There are also some sounds that were generated on an "instrument" I created, which is basically an old spring reverb with things directly physically connected to the actual springs themselves.
